HPE puts storage to work on AI’s expensive memory problem
Storage caching tackles costly memory bottlenecks in AI inference
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has introduced storage cache offloading on its Alletra MP X10000 system to tackle memory bottlenecks in artificial intelligence workloads. Validation testing carried out with Kamiwaza showed the architecture achieved up to a twentyfold improvement in time to first token. The approach aims to reduce inference latency by retrieving prior computations from storage rather than regenerating them.
