Europe's established data-center hubs are Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin. Each grew around network interconnection and financial or cloud demand.

All five now face constraints. Amsterdam and Dublin have contended with grid capacity and planning limits, Frankfurt with power availability, London with both land and connection queues.

That pressure has pushed growth outward: to the Nordics for power price and cooling, to Spain and Italy for renewable generation and subsea connectivity, and to Poland and the wider Nordic and Iberian regions for large AI campuses where multi-hundred-megawatt connections can realistically be secured.
